The
square with the age-old plane trees lends a panoramic view
of Volos and the Pagasitic Gulf. In one of the traditional
coffee houses there is a big fresco by Theofilos (a famous
painter who lived 1873 - 1934). The picturesque cobbled paths
of Makrinitsa are scattered with traditional water fountains
where water flows endlessly.
